Default how was your weekend

I was fishing out of kalama for the last three days and had a great time, we went 10 for 14. We did get the big boy yesterday though, it was a chrome 34 pounder  . The other fish ran in the low teens. I am going back down on friday and have two open seats. So let hear how you all did. tight lines.

Put in at 8 at the Meat hole with a buddy that doesn't go out much ( but who does ). Saw a whopping 3 fish caught, one of which was a released summer by us

Headed out of Caterpillar island at 1pm,and began fishing around 130. Within 15 minutes we're brawling a 30 # T-U-L-E ( aka skankfish), after releasing it ,we were pumped. Next rod down about 30-45 minutes later( maybe less, maybe more) yields my buddies biggest URB. 43 # of mean, irratated, injured( had a gnarly seal, shark or something bigger bite out of it) fish.

Quit anchor fishing when the tide ran out and had another swat as we began to troll back to the ramp. One of those pumping hard takedowns that went limp :depressed: Next time.

After a quick breather, we headed up to "The Bench" for a little night plunking. Buddy spanks a nate up there too ( must have been his 24 hours or something) that went about 7 pounds. When 6:01 am came and the locals started tossing spinners in the mere light, I called it a day, and we went home.

Not too shabby from 8 am Saturday to 7 am Sunday.

Chris

I've had some good weekends before but this weekend spent w/ familly (cousins and my bro) down on the rogue was unbeleivable. In three days we landed 30 salmon (10 jacks), saw 6 bears, had a bear take a fish from our cooler while away from camp, had a bear stroll through camp while we were mid afternoon napping, could smell the reminance of the bisquit fire, and unlike in the local pdx area if there were 2 boats on the same stretch of river it felt crowded..... We figured after all the trips we've made down there when the bite was off, that the fish gods rewarded us w/ a perfect 3 days of fishing and outdoor experience.

Hooked two brutes on Friday (38# chromer landed and a bigger chromer lost at the net). Only had a couple hours to fish on Saturday and landed an 8#er. Two take downs on Sunday but none to the boat. The boats on both sides of me caught fish though. Guess it wasn't our day.

Fished the North Fork of the Lewis River friday and saturday. Friday I hooked into one fish but soon lost it do to 8 pound leader line. I seen a 40 to 45 pound chinook salmon  boated out in the meat hole. Also seen a good number of good looking fall chinooks boated, but also seen some old springers and summer run chinooks landed to that were . Saturday I did not even bump into a fish and I only seen 2 coho banked and a few chinooks boated. Sunday I fish in a boat out on the Kalama bar and out of like 300 boats I only seen like 10 chinooks boated. The boat right next to us boated a very nice looking 41 pound bright fall chinook  . All in all I did not get to take home a fish but I was fun being out, Maybe this week I will get somthing

I agree with Wetaline. The Rogue is hot! Fished the Grants Pass area Friday and Saturday. Limits plus Jacks both days. Landed a 40 Lb and a 32 LB using 20 lb main line and 15 lb leader. All on eggs . UNREAL fun! Jeff
