Default Sandy Report: Oxbow to Dabney

Got a late start this morning and did not get on the water at Oxbow until just before 10:00 a.m. (I hate it when work interferes with my fishing. ) Drifted to Dabney, off the water around 4:00. Water was at 9.7 and fairly clear. Of course, the weather was very nice.

The only fish we saw were in Hosmer, and they were dark and skankey. We bobber and jigged, and we pulled plugs, but with zero action. We talked to another DB at Camp Angelos. They reported having brief contact with one fish.

Oh well, I confirmed that my boat will still float and Springer Season is just around the corner. I love this time of year.

I knew there was a reason I wasn't planning to float anytime soon. Maybe folks just aren't talking but it seemed like a pretty lousy season for winters on the metro rivers.

>>> brief contact with one fish<<<

Very brief, but my buddy saw it too so that proves it happened!!!!
The kind hearted understanding of my fishing friend was illustrated by his heart warming comment, "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU MISSED THAT!!!"
Thanks Cliff.....

All the action is up high and early morning. I landed another Nate today running around 10lbs. Very acrobatic fish. Got about 7 leaps out of him and a complete cart wheel on one of the leaps. Talked to a guy as I was leaving. He said he landed 5 steelies during the first 1/2 hr of daylight.
