I like the Cathlamet launch. The people there will be able to direct you to the fishing areas, or you might like to contact me for info. I was just down there last weekend, and the fishing was on the slow side. I spent Sat and Sun with 2 boats and we all got skunked. Things are bound to improve though and I like the Cathlamet area. The camp zone is excellent, as are the launch and marina.

I like to fish b/w Longview and Cathlamet, its a little bit longer run from most of the other launches so usually there is a little less people but no matter what, when its good there will be boats. You can launch in Longview and acess many good areas. Hope this helps.

Default Timing and place for Springers in CR?

I'd like to take my brother out for springer fishing in the CR in the next month. I'd appreciate any comments on when the run peaks -- and whether it's best to wait for the smelt run to end. Also, would really appreciate any comments about where fishing is reasonable but less crowded -- and where a good Washington side launch would be for an 18' campion. Thanks a ton in advance -- this is a great site!
