Sandy River question ???

I was hoping some one might help me with some info. I was trying to locate the dam up on the Sandy and found the gravel road and went down about 2 miles to the locked gate. I think I was pretty close but I didn't have time to get out and expore. If this is were you park how far is it to the dam and I assume there is a dead line can you tell me how it is marked at this location? I am hoping to go back this weekend and I'd like to have some idea of what I may be getting myself into, hazards ect... Any info would be greatly appreciated.

the dam is right down from the gate, less than a quarter of a mile. the biggest problem is car break in's there.
