Default Weight formula

Ok, I did a search and could not find it. You know the one with the girth X length X your mothers maiden name or whatever. Does anybody have it? Many thanks in advance...

For what it's worth, I think the equations are very inaccurate. The best way to estimate the weight of a fish you want to release is to keep records of hatchery fish length/girth/weight and compare. If you don't have records to work with, post a picture, give the length with or without girth and ask for estimates. The people on this and other sites are pretty good at eyeballing a guess. (I think better than the equations)

Gary,

Here's the one I have:

(L*(G)²)/800=lbs

L and G are in inches.

That's Length times Girth Squared divided by 800.

Thanks for the replies! Well, this was for a friend of mine...he guessed 38lbs, the equation and calculator gave 41lbs. Maybe he guessed wrong or there is a plus/minus of say 2-3lbs? I think they are purty close.
Anyway, thanks again, have a good one!
