4/10 Springer Challenge (Official Teams)
OK,
Start replying to this thread and I will update the teams as the posts come in...Rules are simple...Maximum teams of 4, Average weight per person/per team, and biggest fish get the plaques. I will have a total of 5 plaques made (Biggest Fish, Most Weight averaged per person per Team)...YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE TEAM'S OF 4...IF YOU ONLY HAVE 3 OR 2 THATS OK...HENCE THE WEIGHTED AVERAGE CONSIDERATION... There is no entry fee but if you want to help me out with placques, please PM me...
In addition, weigh-in will be open at 3:00 PM & closed at 5:00 PM at the Scappoose Bay Marina where we will have a barbeque and social afterwards...Barbeques are welcome and you must bring your own vittles to barbeque. Scappoose Bay Marina is the best place to hold the weigh-in & social logistically so please understand those rules regarding the weigh-in time & place...
Good Luck All...More details to follow as well as we move closer...

Does the team have to be all ifishers? I would like to involve my grandfather but he is technology challenged.

Re: 4/10 Springer Challenge (Official Teams)
I am in for this event!!!! Team name to be determined, as well as memebers. I have a 21' starcraft, with room for a couple more people. I have zero springer experience, so looking for people hopefully with some.
Hey Big Tule, are you able to make this???

Re: 4/10 Springer Challenge (Official Teams)
OK, my "official entry" lasted less than 24 hours. :depressed: AlseaAssasin is backing out for a wedding in Reno. Who would choose a wedding in Reno over springers... wait a minute, Reno
Anyway, I guess Team Twitchs_Tackle is out . :depressed:
I'd be more than happy if someone else needed a seat filled/larger team. Am self contained.

Re: 4/10 Springer Challenge (Official Teams)
As of this moment it will be Scott and myself as usual on the water under the new "no beer in the boat rule" invoked by honey. I have a shout out to Clownmouth to see if he can be thawed out in time  If not I will post an open seat. I've been practicing for weeks, saving my mojo for the big event, or for whenever Mr. Springer decides to bite me

Re: 4/10 Springer Challenge (Official Teams)
I for one think professional guides should have their own division since us inferior non-professionals can't compete with such tremendous talent....
Ok, OK....just kidding but you guys are "The Team To Beat"...
I suppose I should say good luck but in your teams case...I don't think luck figures into the equation...

Re: 4/10 Springer Challenge (Official Teams)
Scott and Grant are just cominig along for the ride. It'll be my boat and they are just holding rods. Besides Those two have limited knowledge of any springer fisheries near PDX. They only fish near the coast and salem. Nick and I will be the guides for this event. We might have a good selection of bait to throw at them. Just think if Bonneville is as good as it was three years ago. oooohh. look out! Or maybe it will be the Willamette or Even Lower Columbia. Do they bite eggs near Scapoose? Maybe we'll have to try it?

Lund,
I think it is awesome Scott & Grant are coming...People like that involved in an event like this is an awesome thing...
They are great fish catchers to boot, that often help people enjoy the sport we love and in my opinion...that is what really counts...

Re: 4/10 Springer Challenge (Official Teams)
They are great friends and we've shared tons of info over the past years as well as fishng trips. I don't mean to degrade their knowledge of the sport, but yet the lack of where and when for Valley springers. It should be lots of fun, fish or not. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Team "Spring Cleaning" will be there to represent Washington fishers. We came close to winning it all last year when Giz held a 'tilla. on Sand Island.
So Far Sky-Guy and Hallie-But will be on board...I hope some of my other PP brethren will join up and help fish.
Washingtonians will win it all this year!

I had a question proposed to me tonight regarding the rules...
The question was: Can teams of 4 be broken up into 2 boats...IMHO - I say absolutely not...
It is tough enough that we have a boat of professional's in one boat and now this
I think the individual who asked me this stands a good chance to win the thing if he and 1 other person went or he + 2 or 3 in the same boat...
Heck, why don't we just invite Roland Martin, Jimmy Houston, Kevin Van Damm & Rick Clunn to put together a team and come fish in a bass tournament...
I vote for keeping it simple and all teams must fish from the same boat...

Re: 4/10 Springer Challenge (Official Teams)
What time are you guys going out in the morning? The reason I ask is I think there is a ABA bass tournament going out of Scappoose Bay marina the same day. They will probably have the weigh in at 3 or 4 o'clock as well. Might be busy around there.

Re: 4/10 Springer Challenge (Official Teams)
How about length of fish vs weight? Seems like in order to get max weight one would leave the blood and guts in the fish. :depressed: Total length divided by number of team members sounds better to me,also would taste better too.

Re: 4/10 Springer Challenge (Official Teams)
Nice idea Freespool about the weight or length divided by number of team members.
Team Rock & Water is ready to sign up, but since we've already made a commitment to our daughter to go see The Wiggles that day, we have to cut the day to just fishing before noon.
Seeing how we will have a hard time getting anyone else to sign up with us for just 5-6 hours of fishing, we would register as just a team of two (RKNH2O and RKNH2O's spouse).

Of course you can jajones. If you got a team, send your team name and all of your teammate's names to Kentucky Hog Hunter and he'll update this thread and post them up there for ya!
