Sandy River Steelheaders on the Sandy River
This coming Saturday, March 20th, the Sandy River Chapter of the Association of Northwest Steelheaders will be having their 10th annual Frost Bite Follies. There will be about 35 members in at least a dozen boats drifting from Oxbow down to Dabney. Usually, this event is held in January, but our first attempt was snow/iced out and our second try was cancelled due to high water. There won't be much "frost" in the event this year, but the purpose of the day is to celebrate the membership and their collective efforts at river cleanups, working at the Marmot fish trap, carcass plantings, free fishing day events at Bonneville, and other projects that promote the general stewardship of the Sandy River.
We appreciate your patience as we travel downstream. We will do our best to respect everyone's space on the river and hope our passing has little impact on the success of your day.
