Re: Millacoma Info?
There are actually two rivers, E.& W. Forks. Both are pretty easy to figure out, both of them have public roads that run the entire legth of them and are accessed pretty easily. However, because of this, most of the time you won't be the only one there but there are a lot of fish in general. What else do you need to know?

Re: Millacoma Info?
how is boat access on both of the forks?
I heard there were no real boat launches or take outs on the east fork but I have never been up the west to look at it

Re: Millacoma Info?
The west fork clears first, if there isn't alot tonight it will probably be OK tomorrow, you can easily hit both forks, I believe there is more public access on the east... access on the west fork is up closer to the hatchery. as far as boats....havn't had the pleasure.....yet... but I see a few rigs & boats here and there...
Tailchaser may have more on that
If you care to hook up I'll be hitting it during the week, last week was good on the west fork.
Keepem tight

Re: Millacoma Info?
I think they'll both fish tomorrow!
I just spoke to a friend who lives up there and he is fishing the WF in the AM
Not much boat access, unless you know someone!
There are a ton of fish in the system right now.. join the crowds and have fun.
The Coos system has the best STEP Biologist in the business!

Re: Millacoma Info?
As of boat access, the west fork is basically locked up, without knowing a private land owner anyhow. There was one take out on private land that everyone could use, however several out of area guides from California and Washington were using it and drove all over the guys lawn and ticked him off, so he closed it. I did see a guide boat that had a motor on the back that was intending on going all the way into tidewater about 5 miles down the river with the motor. I guess he wanted to fish it really bad. I have seen more and more people fishing boats on the E.Fork lately, but I'm not really sure why, it's so easily accessed and you can fish pretty much the whole river anyhow without it so there isn't a lot of incentive to have it. There are no launches on the E.Fork, the people are merely dropping in off of the bank. The fishing has been good as of late with a lot of hatchery fish around to club, but it's getting a little low and clear as of today.

Re: Millacoma Info?
Yes
the only takeout on the WF is a 45 minute run with a kciker.. ouch!
Hey TC
I actually saw an aluminum drift boat up in the canyon on the WF yesterday.,.. incredible.. I would have loved to see the bottom of his boat when he pulled out!

Re: Millacoma Info?
Thanx for the info. My partner and I had a good day yesterday on the EF. We went 3 for six. All three were brats(1buck,2 hens) and absolutely chrome.
TH- I also saw a DB just above the County Park about 2:30 yesterday(Is it Nesik?).
Once again, Thanx for the info.
