Default Lat/Lon of the Bouys on the web?

While running around Bouy 10 -CR I have been utilizing my GPS, and without running to each bouy and marking them in as a waypoint, is there a location that has the official coordinates of each Bouy. I have used the simple map to you can buy at GI Joes, but deriving all the Bouys coordinates gets a bit tiresome which creates errors.

I do have the big chart maps of the columbia system but it is in the boat 20 miles away and I don't recall if it shows lat/lon of the Bouys anyway.

thanks in advance.

Gus - try the following thread. I was searching a few weeks ago and came up with these. Have only tested out to 10 (didn't get further than that the days I went) and they seemed to be right on.

Gus,
The US coast guard has a publication called the Light List which list all of the characteristics of aids to navigation including their coordinates. It is on the net but I am not sure exactly where. You probably can locate it with a search engine using USCG Light List.

Thanks, I pretty much have derived all of those and a bunch more, compared them against what I stored the last couple of weeks, and then triple checked it against the thread you shared.

I added some ports and routes into Chinook and Skipanon. I assume others must do this, after the fog I saw Friday AM I want to have my routes nailed down pat!

It seems there should be an easier way

Gus - This thread is to the official Coast Guard "light list" and contains the official coordinates for all aids to navigation. You can buy a hard copy (try Captains), but the Web is updated for all "notices to mariners" almost realtime.
I mark these right on my charts just in case. Take coordinates from your buddies at your own risk. Either way - run the lines next time you're out and verify. http://pollux.nss.nima.mil/pubs/USCG...d=8070#viewpub

Thanks! I will check it out.

I stopped by Captain's this afternoon and found the Coast Guard Light and Bouy List....41 bucks and I only want two pages of information in it. But if the website has the right stuff then I can afford that

GO

Well, I can't make that site work. Not sure if it really allows you to even get the Lat/lon???? Have you used it to get the information, I can see the cover, index, etc... but no light /bouy lat lon details.

If you know how to make it work using Aids??? whatever they are to get coordinates let me know.

Check out this chart server. I use it all the time to find the LAT/LON of Bouys and then put them in my GPS

I like it! It took me a minute or two to get my GPS degmmm settings to match, and once I did it all lined up nicely.

This is an good resource and easy enough to use. I will check both the accuracy and transpostion errors when I am out and about.

thanks a bunch.
