Default Honda Motor Dies

My 90 hp Honda died at least the water pump did. It is on a recall list I find out, but cannot be fixed until Sept 4th. Right in the heart of the Hog fest at the 77. Oh well will have to rely on friends for a couple weeks. Friend got a 40 and a 27 nook today there hope to find a ride tomorrow.

Good evening!

I too have a 90 Honda (2000 model). I haven't had any problems, but would like to know about the recall and what problem I should be watching for with the water pump.

Thanks SD

AD11,
Looks as if I will have my boat back in a couple of days. I plan on hitting her pretty hard on Friday and into Labor Day weekend. If you need a ride let me know.....

Tacklebuster I might take you up on that as I have a 4 day weekend and no boat. Went with a friend today and 11 fish in our line (we got 2) boat neat to us got a 53 lb chromer.

As far as the reca;; i need to talk to Clemons more on Monday. Mine is a 2000 honda 90 4 stroke and he thinks it is on the recall list. Nice of Honda to notify all of us.

Good Morning!

I contacted my local Honda dealer and they knew nothing of a recall on the 90 4 strokes.

So... Being of suspicious nature, I called Honda directly this AM (1-770-497-6400) and asked them about a recall because of a water pump or other overheating related problems. The gentleman assured me that there is no recall for this motor model and he had nothing in his computer to indicate that there was a problem with the water pumps.

Just for your info. I will still continue to watch mine closely. SD

Thanks Spoiled Daddy, I was going to call but I was waiting for my days off. It's nice that my motor is not on a recall list, I love my 90 HP Honda, it's the best outboard motor that I've ever owned, it gets better gas mileage then any of the small OB that I've had on several skiffs. No noise or smoke, very good motors, I've not had one bit of trouble with mine.
