Fished Friday and Saturday and it was pretty slow for my boat. Got one 16-18 lb Chinook on Friday down at the Buoy after the fog lifted and crackered one in the same area on Saturday morning (fish broke the 40 lb leader when the diver hit the outboard). I knew it was slow on Saturday because after it broke off and I rebaited the poles and tried to resume trolling, 2 charters and several other boats started crowding our area. I had a fierce take down on a wobbler on Sat up by the 5 wing-dam, but no hookup. Fish we also being caught up a the bridge around the high, but I wasn't one of the lucky ones. We saw 10 fish hooked on Saturday. Friday was the better day with decent bites for short spurts at Buoy 10, off 3 and 5 wing-dams, and up at the bridge.

As far as silvers go I saw 2 at camp, one at the dock, and 1 being caught. I wouldn't say the swarm that's out in the ocean is in yet.

The boats were more spread out this weekend so there seemed like less than last weekend. Talked to a lot of dissappointed people too. We all got spoiled with the great catching when the silvers were in last year. My boat finished the season with the same number of chinook as last and 0 silvers. There will be some great fishing with the silver swarm comes in. Problem is, now people are speculating they are going to shoot right past the estuary and into the rivers. (Or do you biologists know if they will have to hold for a day or two to aclimate?)

Like everyone's been saying all season 'it can only get better,' I just have to get on with the rest of my fall fishing and hunting....

Fished from about the church to the bridge Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There were a few times that the bite picked up but it was never really "hot" like I have seen it in the past.

The fish checker said it has been very slow in the mornings with a few fish being caught around the tide turns. Average according to her has been .24 fish per rod or one fish per boat (chinook).

We caught three a day for three rods. Largest was 35lbs and the smallest was 24lbs, average 30lbs. We released one tule buck and lost one fish to another angler on a tangle.

Interesting side note: Last weekend we had several fish on that came unbuttoned while using hand sharpened Mustad hooks. Changed to 5/0 Gammies above 6/0 Owner Cutting Points and lost no fish that were hooked (except the tangle which got pulled into a prop, it happens).

Pictures to follow shortly.
