Mono backing is the key. Just use a lighter mono. Power pro is such a small diameter that you will have more than enough on your spool.

One thing you should do before applying any line is to wrap the wiffle spool with a couple of layers of teflon tape. This keeps water, dust, slime from entering into the reel thru the holes.

I've used the holes in my calcutta and it doesn't seem to hurt anything.

Default Wiffle spool and PowerPro?

I have a Pinnacle Tetra reel that has the wiffle spool like the Curado BSF. Can I tie the PP thru the holes in the spool to keep the PP from slipping? The line capacity is only 110yds of 12lb mono,so I really don't want to eat up line capacity with backing.Thanks.
