Jefferson to Geren Island
Made the trip from Jefferson to Geren Island today. Level at 2250 cfs. Channels fairly easy to recognize. No big obstacles, some thin water around Stayton and above.

Re: Jefferson to Geren Island
2250 cfs was the level measured at Mehama today. Only 1340 was coming out at Big Cliff, and the rest of that is all tributary runoff. At Jefferson, it was 6355, so it makes a lot of difference where the measurment is taken. Numerous power boaters have been asking about that section, so thanks for the update. It will get even fishier when the moon wanes.

Re: Jefferson to Geren Island
We drifted from the state park to Mehama. Water there was in and around summer levels. Looked great, but only saw one fish caught. Nice hatchery hen. What do you think will happen as the snow melts and the lake gets full? I think the levels will be up pretty good, but the water is gonna be COLD!!!

Re: Jefferson to Geren Island
Ran from I-5 to Stayton last Sunday. Smooth ride! The downed trees above Greens bridge that took so many boats last year are gone. This winters high water have made the braided channels a little dicier to run. Lower flows are going to create problems with the power boaters. Ran the south fork up to Lebanon on saturday. Easier run, less traffic! Lost my u-joint, and probably my main bearing and seals! I was very lucky to make it back to I-5! How about that I-5 launch? Does anybody know if there are plans to dig that area out? Driftboats and smaller craft will have no problem launching there, but lower flows are sending the larger powerboats up under the I-5 bridges to launch from the gravel bar underneath. With time this will get rutted out.

T-Jet, hope repairs go well for you. Don't have any info on I-5 ramp.

Re: Jefferson to Geren Island

Re: Jefferson to Geren Island
T-Jet- The I-5 ramp has always been the same, no good! Use the ferry ramp on the Willamette and then run up to the Santiam. Much less hassle!
