The middle of April is when I catch most of mine.

Mid April would be best for people coming from out of town. Less chance of fish being late because of the water being too cold and besides, the peak of the run crossing Bonneville is the third week of April and they peak at OC Falls usually the first week of May.

I agree with the third week of April. I have fished the Willy the Sat. of that week and done well the last two years. Keep in mind it's always a crap shoot with our Spring rains whether the river will be clear enough to fish. If so, the Columbia is a good alternative if they don't shut it down.

Last couple of years the Columbia had plenty of fish the last two weeks of March.

And...

The Willamette has plenty of fish the WHOLE month of April.

Hope that helps.

Default Springer timing question

My girlfriends Dad is coming up fron Utah to go fishing with us this spring. He is totally open on when he can come and has asked me to tell him what date to arrive. I had told him to be here the last week of march off the top of my head but now after doing a little research that seems a little early. I have to admit I don't keep a log and I always start going when I start hearing some decent reports. I'm hoping some of you who keep better records than I can help me out. I thought about calling some guides and asking them when their peak times are but it doesn't seem right to bug them for info unless I was planning on hiring them. Can anyone offer any advice ? Oh, and he will be staying for 2 weeks. Thanks a bunch  .

for trolling the wind and with him being here for two weeks, the last weekend in march I would say is perfect.
