Default New Member.... HI!

Hello everyone!

I have been reading the great information on your board for about a month now and I finally decided to join. What a great site... thanks to everyone for the great, informative posts!

I ran accross ifish.net when searching for B-10 fishing reports. Until the end of May I was into flyfishing only. In fact I have been exclusively a flyfisher for about 25 years (I started when I was 8 yrs old)! In my younger days (before kids, wife and a career) it was great because me and my fishing buddy would hike, get away from the crowds and catch a lot of fish. Now those hikes seem like torture so when I started hinting to my wife that we should get a boat in May of this year you can imagine my grand suprise when she said she thought it was a great idea! Yea! We bought a 22.5' Alumaweld Mirage jetsled and I have been a fishing fool ever since. I have had the boat out at least once, but most of the time twice a week ever since.

I am excited to learn about the new techniques of fishing for MUCH larger fish than I used to take on flies. Since we got our boat I have caught numerous steelhead, a few HUGE sturgeon and a couple of salmon one of which I posted below. I caught this fish at the mouth of the Deschutes on the Columbia on Thursday this week. We also released 3 native steelies as well... good morning!

Hopefully I can gleen some knowledge from the rest of you guys in the know and continue to pass it on to my family who loves to fish from the boat! Thanks for a great site like this to give myself and others like me that LOVE to fish a forum to talk, read and think about it when we actully are not on the water!

Welcome aboard, 5-cents. You may not get much of a reception today as I think most folks are fishing somewhere. Glad to have ya.

Don't forget ifishstock, September 14!

Welcome, NickelMan! Years ago I expanded my fishing out of a fly-only mode and discovered, as it appears you have, that I was missing a world of fun. I still love chucking bugs, but I haven't figured out how to tie a "whole shad fly" that will sit on the bottom in 80 feet of water.

I love it when new guys show up with great fish pics! Thanks!

Welcome 5cents, this is a great board with some very nice and information laden people. Stay tuned and you'll get up to the minute reports on where and how the fish are biting. Nice boat, now I'm jealous, newbies are supposed to tell us stories on how they want to fish B10 in a 12 ft. boat with an 8 horse. Imagine that if you can. Good luck and I'll see ya on the water.

Welcome aboard 5-cents. Glad to have another new member. Even the old salts can learn a thing or two on this board. Hope to see ya on the pond some day.

Welcome! But tell me what is wrong with me!?!
I'm going from the large fish to the fly caught little ones!
I love it!
I'm backwards, I guess!
