There are a lot of different ways to do it. Brought back a 9.5 pounder from New Brunswick and boiled it. Came out awesome, only problem was it was so long had to break off a claw to get it in the kettle.

Give this a try.

Don't forget to get the meat out of the legs. Break them into pieces at the joints and then suck the meat out.

I could come show you how, hint, hint.

us heavily salted water for the best flavor...I use 1 cup rocksalt to 2gals water.

bring water and salt to a full rolling boil (it will take awhile because of the salt)

once it reaches full boil, place lobster into pot and return to a boil....once the water gives off the slightest hint of a RE-boil with lobster added...start your timer and continue cooking for 15mins, no more...no less.

We like ours cooled so we cool em in the sink with a couple of bags of bagged ice and enough water to make a heavy slush for 10 mins.....you can do this, or let it rest slightly to the touch so it's managable without burning your hands and devour.

Good luck...it's pretty easy and great eats.

J&K, hopefully you've already eaten it
But for the record, Old Bay is a really good seafood boil and seasoning.

We steam ours....................

I use my turkey cooker that has a basket. I put a few inches of water in the bottom and bring to full boil, add some crab boil seasoning to the water and sprinkle some over the goodies as well, throw some red potatoes and a couple ears of corn in the basket (we start the potatoes and corn first as they take a little longer to cook).

Use the link in langararock's post above and under cooking whole lobsters click on the steaming a lobster link. There is some real good info in there on how to do it including cooking times.

When ready to eat, I melt some butter and add a small amount of crab boil seasoning to it (not much as it's pretty concentrated seasonings).

Yyyyyyyyyyyyuuuuuuuummmmmmmm.................
