You are correct, no native Salmon on the Williamette. It's been about 5 years since you could keep them.

He can find out by keeping one and then paying the ticket! Maybe then he'll learn to read the regs.!

It's hard to believe that after all the publicity and all the propaganda out there that
some people still haven't got it. Be assured when discussing this topoic.
They must be clipped!

Re: Natives on the Willamette
those are the people who "think" they know what they're talking about and those are the same people who go around saying, "I think it's this way" and then wonder "what's this citation for?"

The guy must be one heck of a fisherman if he catches salmon on the Willamette in the fall.

There are free copies of the regs all over the state. When in doubt, open the booklet!

Re: Natives on the Willamette
Hi Cheeseburger! Glad you made it back!! All fish on the Willy needs a clip. I don't think there is much of a Fall run of Salmon on the Willamette. I was fishing with Mountain Man last fall and he did catch one(or stray last springer?). It was with a klure chartruese and silver. Do you know of any fall fish in the Willy? Natives on the Willamette
I have to ask this. As far as i have ever known, accept when i was younger, you cannot keep native spring chinook on the Willamette River. I got in an argument with a guy today that said you can keep native fish as long as you catch them on the Willamette River. I assured him he was wrong. Or did i miss something. Am i right, you cannot keep native Spring Chinook on the Willamette River??

Re: Natives on the Willamette
I could be wrong but I had always heard there was a small run of fall chinooks that went up the mollalla along with a couple other small rivers along with a small coho run like i said I could be wrong thats just what I heard.
I do know many years ago there was an article in the local paper here that stated that there used to be a fall run and a winter run of chinooks that came up the valley as far as oakridge and a run of cohos but they were all extinct now
Quasi.
