Kenai report and bird nest poll?
CAN YOU SAY THICK AS FLEAS????? Had the pleasure of fishing with Chris Sessions (who is one of the best I might add) today. There were so many pinks in the river it was just boiling, they rocked the boat! WHAT A HOOT!
Chris took me and a friend of mine Kelly out on her maiden voyage for silver and she created the biggest bird nest you have ever seen. Chris has re-named them in her honor as an eagle's nest!!!!!
Chris and I wanted to see if there is one that would beat Kelly's. Chris will be spending half the night cutting the line off the spool and refilling it. We both agreed that that was the worst we have seen. Half the line was unhinged, and there was no going back!!!
By the way the fishing was great, in about two hours we got two silver boated, lost several other and managed a limit of female pinks for you know what!
So what was you biggest eagle's nest??? I will update Chris with your stories.
Tight lines, Kim......

Just talked with Chris, he has taken a picture of the eagle's nest and I will post as soon as he sends it to me via e-mail. Tight lines all, Kim.

Re: Kenai report and bird nest poll?
Didn't he have his bottle of "No More Tangles" with him?
That usually works... Just a couple squirts! No more tangles!
Isn't that man handsome????
YOU LUCKY DOG!

Re: Kenai report and bird nest poll?
How about the most in one day? I had 4 clients in the boat and even though they all knew I would be more than happy to cast for them they insisted on casting themselves. I had to cut out three nests that day and re-spool all three that night as I was fishing again in the morning. Good thing we didn't hook any peelers.

Re: Kenai report and bird nest poll?
My mother-in-law gave me this photo from a few years back on the Kenai. $200.00 fishing rod and reel, 2500 fishing lures and sinkers (1 oz to 5 oz, spin glows, pixes, and deep divers). This snag exceeded 10 feet in length and approximately 600 lbs. Would this be considered a birdsnest? <'///>< Ken

Re: Kenai report and bird nest poll?
Marty, looked like you were having a bad morning, what no coffee? Holy cow on the find on the Kenai, that was worth several hundred dollars worth of gear if you had the patience.
Still waiting on the picture from Chris, sounds like he has been working about 15 hours a day!!! We are all looking forward to the end of the season.
Crap, I actually get to fish the Kasilof for several days this week, what a novel idea folks?????? Will let you know how I do, hope you all are not melting in Oregon, it is about 65 degrees and sunny here, perfect weather!!!!!!!!! Kim

Re: Kenai report and bird nest poll?
When you fish as much as most of us Ifish.net people, we prefer NOT to use the words, "Bird's Nest".
The correct term for experienced fisherpeople is, "PROFESSIONAL OVERRIDE"!!
