Default Mouth of the Cowlitz

Fished red X-5 and U-20 flatfish at the mouth from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. Approximately 10-15 other boats in the area. No fish for us, only saw one steelhead caught. We stayed up along cottonwood island because the wind was really blowing and making it a little rougher than I like for the 14 foot boat.

I "heard" that yesterday (in the morning) a couple of salmon were caught at the cowlitz mouth along with a steelhead. Not sure what was used as far as lures but I plan on being out there tomorrow. My daughter and her boyfriend are going with me, neither one has caught a big fish yet!!!

We were in the "Two-Bush" line on wednesday, and there were probably about 30 boats there. 3 or 4 boats were doing pretty well, with multiple hookups, but we joined the majority with no touches. Didn't see any chinook, but several (~7-8) steelhead.

Saw several marks at a time on the screen, but no biters under our boat....

One of my fishing buddies said he was going to tie on an Alvin, "If I'm not gonna catch anything, I may as well not be catching chinook!"
