Default Release or not to release...that is the ?

Just for the sake of conversation.....what would you have done? The fish is clearly missing the L.max.

For the record. It was released unharmed. Would it have been unlawful to keep it?

As long as it has an adipose intact it would have been. The exception is the handful of rivers in the southern part of the state where you can retain a small number of wild fish.

I feel your pain, but the rules are clear...If it has the fin, it's not for din(ner).

The adipose is clipped (barely) Notice the strait line going down from the top, they are usually rounded. Judging by the picture, I would proably bonk it.
