Default Trailor hook probs

Trolling cut plug herring with traylor hook caught 4 steelhaed smolts on the trailor today, is this common or just a freak thing. All smolts were hatch fish too.

I caught one of those on Tuesday. Beautiful 8" fin-clipped steelie on a whole blue label herring. I thought I was the only one cool enough to catch them that way.
