I plan on hitting bouy 10 on Saturday morning for some fishing adventure. I am taking Gus Oviston along with me, and for those of you that know this flatlander, know it would be tough for one person (myself) to run the boat and keep on eye on this guy and his gear while operating the boat and fishing my own rod. I have this fear he will fall over the side of the boat when I have my head turned and hit his head on another boat and hurt himself

I was thinking about rigging a harness system to keep him in the middle of the boat but that seemed like a lot of work for a days fishing.
I plan on leaving Portland Saturday morning around 2 AM, (going down HWY 26) arrive in Astoria area 4 AM. Get fresh bait and get to the line at the boat ramp by 4:30. With any luck we will have the boat in the water by 7AM   (that may not be a joke)
I have never crabbed the estruary and may deploy a few crab traps in hopes of harvesting some crabs. I have no idea where to drop pots I suppose we could find a location fairly quickly.
With low tide at 4 am The tide will be coming in strong by the time we get to Bouy 10 which is when fishing is best at Bouy 10. High tide is a little before 10am. If we havent limited the boat by then, I plan on moving up towards the Astoria-Megler bridge and fish this area. Around 2 or 3 pm I plan on heading to the boat ramp to enjoy the pleasure of long lines and watching some people who have no idea how to back up a boat trailer.
I have a crew cab truck and will have room for you to ride with me. Gus will be with us in my kids car seat. So after all that rambling, basically I have an open seat for somebody that wants to go to bouy 10 on Saturday and watch the circus.
