Default Crims Island on Columbia River

Anyone ever fish this area for Springers? Trolling or on anchor? It's by Stella, WA; river mile 57. It looks like it might have potential, but I'm not sure which side of the island to concentrate on.

You can email me or PM me if you don't want the world to know.

Thanks.

THis area is also on my short list of places to try......launch at Willow Grove, fish both sides of the island, so I've been told . Seems to be a natural funnel, I intend to look for a water line or "change" at the bottom end of the island....similar to just below the mouth of the Cowlitz.....

Fished there all day today. Towards the east end of the island in the CR in 12ft of water. One guy below us got one but lost it at the boat. There were about 15 boats that I could see from the east end of Crimms to where the bend is. Only action we saw was the one mentioned above. A few days ago I asked Chuck Downer (? on last name) at Bobs if he has ever heard of someone catching any chinook on the back side of Crimms and he said "no". I thought it looked good to but haven't tried it. I think I am going to try it some time this year.

I think it was Thursday Duckboy23 (? on name) posted he had one on some where down there but lost it.

You've got Chuck's name correct. Chuck talks to lots of fisher-people, so he's a good resource for Longview/Kelso area successes, and also writes an outdoor column for the Longview Daily News. He told me a year or so ago that he fishes mostly for bass now.
