CR Chrome!
Well after messing around with hand surgery early this month, we decided to give springer fishing a go today. We set out early this morning with fellow ifisher and regular fishing bud Ouhtfortrouht and his 13-year-old son Ben.
The tide was still coming in, so we decided to pull around some herring till it was time to sit on anchor. Twenty minutes into our day, WHAMMO! BEN FISH ON!! About five minutes later and the normal fire drill Ben brings this beauty to the boat.
Dang one too many fins. But wow what a ride for Ben and his first ever springer."Man I can't believe how hard they fight". Good day Bean man, hopefully this will be the first of many!

Re: CR Chrome!
See what happens when I stay home? And I understand that Mr. Silver Hilton's boat made a strange noise today. Kinda like the sound of one long, dry stick becoming two short ones. You know, kind of a "crrackker" sound. (Paybacks are grand!)

Re: CR Chrome!
Buck50 sweet pic and it was nice bumping into you guys. So were you on the oars while trolling or running the kicker?  I ended up pulling a blank for my 3 hours, but it beats working on the lawn. See you on the water.

Re: CR Chrome!
All these platinum bright springer pic's are just killing me with envy! Makes the "chromer" fall kings I was catching last year all look like boots. No comparison!
I gotta get down there to give the big C a try... one of these days.

Re: CR Chrome!
You know the funny thing about those pics is 15 seconds earlier, that fish was one unhappy dude. Then as Brian is about to unbutton the last hook, I yell at him "wait we need a picture". Then the fish just lays up up his side all nice and calm. I get the pictures, Brian unbuttons him and SPLASH! Bye, bye...
Must have wanted to mug for the camera!

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Ahem. I have you know that that fish came after we had already released two wild fish, one about 9, one about 10.*** So, by the time that final fish hit, my senses were finely tuned and in touch with the wa of the river. The wa told me that the fish was also a wild fish, so, in the purest essense of sportsmanship, I shook the fish off so that it would not be further troubled in it's spawning run.
Nice fish for the kid, Jim!
*** Oh yeah, those wild fish were 9 and 10 inches, did I forget to mention that? Mine was bigger than Ampersat's.

Re: CR Chrome!
Yeah SH, as long as you caught silver, size is a relative thing.
