Mid-channel Sunday
Mid-channel Sunday 6:45 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. fairly slow, with a little bit of a morning bite. Saw about 6 caught for 30-40 boats. None for me. maybe next time.

I agree. I was in the channel and only saw 2 caught for a lot of boats. Just wasnt a good day.
Hey Ripple, Ive seen you out there quite a few times and I did again today. I just wanted to tell you that I think you have one of the coolest boats on the river.

Re: Mid-channel Sunday
Fished coon Island area today, saw one nat caught and release. Around 11 my line took off and for once it was not the bottom, after a short fight was able to net my first springer of the year.#15 hen. Hey RIPPLE we talked while passing each other up by coon island. I was passenger in my friends 15 ft grumman. Made a comment about how nice your boat looked and it really does!!!. Have to say RiverKeeper's wille is one fine ride also.

Re: Mid-channel Sunday
Thank you for the compliments on the boat - Short Hop, Riverkeeper & LightningRod, I appreciate it! Nice to know all that sanding pays off. Great job on the fish - Lightning rod & B-Run, I'm sure you ate well tonight. I could just taste the fresh springer out there today, especially at first light - it just felt right to me. I guess I'll have to wait a little longer, but they are here & their #'s are growing! Take care and tight lines.

Re: Mid-channel Sunday
Ripple, your boat looked very classy out there.
blacktail519, nice to have met you and that's a very sharp ride you got there too.
We gave it a go for just under three hours. When the bite did not develop after the tide was running out for an hour we packed it in.
The checker at the ramp had only one fish when we took out at about 1pm.
The water temp was good at 50f, barometer relatively stable, the moon is at the last-quarter, and the water above the Gilbert's in-flow looked great for visability so conditions should have been good. I wasn't marking many fish though, and I'm pretty sure there were more boats than salmon out there.

Re: Mid-channel Sunday
Ripple- I remember seeing your name on a boat, but can't picture the boat now. Was it a green wooden center-console with a new Honda? If so, I put in just before you at Browns in my little camo Smokercraft.
Short Hop- What's your ride? I would like to meet you and thank you again for some info you PM'd me in the fall. Lance and I had fun there.
I had a slow day Sunday, too. I forgot my plug-cutter thing, and I had to troll fast with an RSK. Tried trolling a K-fish for a short time, but wasn't feeling it. I finally found a way to rig a whole herring that I liked, and missed one fish with it. I think I found a new sturgeon hole though. Small hole with a lot of big fish on the bottom. Gonna have to go back and try it in a few days.

Re: Mid-channel Sunday
Thanks Garyk! and yes Beefcake - that was me, nice to talk to ya briefly. I get that feeling that there's 20+ Ifishers around me at times, but I'm not quite sure who. Please say hi and introduce yourselves if you feel like it and good luck out there. I think it's going to be a great season!
