Nice thing about buying direct from the factory is that you get to see exactly how your boat is built. Great boats and great people (and I own a Willie). Give Marty Sherman a call. He'll hook you up.

Here's my 2 cents. I would go 110% with clackacraft, they are awesome boats.
My 2nd choice would be Lavro.

Phone Marty Sherman <contact info removed>.
I was there last week and Marty showed me a nice "used" boat that a photographer used abut 3 times, once in a Sage rod ad. The boat is basically new, fully equipped and about $3000 less than MSRP.
Their tunnel hull boats are super and I can attest to the abuse they can take.

Don't be fooled by the final price. Many of the used boats have the extras included. Anchor, rod holders, ect...

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">New price at Clackacraft included trailor, oars, anchor, rope and other odds and ends. Short of a 3rd oar they looked pretty good. One for 3995.00 and the 16' steelhead model 4995.00. My boat did not sell so I'm on hold for another week or so.

rebell,

Care to expound on why you feel that way about Clackacraft?

Just curious as I've always heard good stuff about them.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to speak right here, that is of course you don't have any factual info?

rebell,

If you can't say it here, then it's probably slander. Better keep it to yourself.

Love glass boats.. I've rowed two Clackacrafts and two Lavro's over the last 15 years. Continually BEAT on those boats and have never had to do anything other than brush the leaves out in the fall. I personally prefer Clackacraft over any other DB.
