OBF,
Because we WANT to see the winner and the TOAD that was able to claim the trophy . It's all about puting in time and being acomplished enough to find locations where those kind of piggies are found.
Congrats team magician

Re: Congratulations Team Magician (Winners)
Hey, that river looks familiar! It really doesn’t matter where. I’ve fished with Kevin, if you have 10 of these contests, he will probably win at least 9 of em. I can’t believe you had your picture taken with that skinny little go-back.

Re: Congratulations Team Magician (Winners)
onebadfish,
If you had spent the time to find locations that put out those kind of fish, you'd most likely keep them to yourself. Those of you that know John and I, will know where we were.
If you knew how to make a billion dollars in one day, would you show the rest of the world? I dont think so.
I dont see the general public bashing all the good guides here on ifish for failure to disclose their locations every day. Besides, the Tualatin is closed anyway, and if we got caught in there we'd be dead.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">To answer your question, because not everyone is looking for handouts and some people can appreciate the hard work that others put in to learn how and where to catch fish... Trust me when you have places that consistiently put out with out crowds, the last thing you are going to want to to is post them on ifish.

OBF--are you for real? I mean, get a map of Oregon with all the rivers that get to the ocean and do some homework! We havent been fishing for years learning new areas to give them away

Re: Congratulations Team Magician (Winners)
first let me start by saying that i consider John and Lund two of my best friends. Second, they did there homework for YEARS to find these spots. i have known them for most of those years and still don't know all of there favorite places and i fish with them guiet a bit, nor do i expect them to show me. The simple fact is, the more you learn about a river (ie) what fishes good low or high, where the fish are likely to hold, etc. the better you will be and the less you have to RELY on others! lastly, i very rarely see people post exactly where they were fishing except for the zipper lip river and the tualatin, they seem to be very popular now-a-days. so once again congratulations team FM, job very well done, can't wait to see the trophy. and HOLY CRAP what a springer team you put together

Re: Congratulations Team Magician (Winners)
OBF C'mon!! Those kind of rivers dont need more pressure on them. OBF if you would have wanted to go on a trip to catch some of these you should have asked, you might have been invited to go on a future open seat. You can forget it now. You obviously dont understand internet impact and are looking for easy street. Get out from your chair and go fishing. When you find a location that produces fish regularly, post its exact location and see how long that lasts or if you ever get that spot to yourself again.
Everyone else- thanks for the understanding!!!!!
Was a great tourney and even better time fishing with great friends. I will be looking forward to fishing this again next year.

Re: Congratulations Team Magician (Winners)
i'm personally glad these guys don't share all of secrets they know,i've known todd for 17 years and get to fish with him very little because of where i live,we elk hunt every year,i was able to finally make it up this weekend and do some fishing with these guys,it was nice to have some water to ourselfs and spend time with good friends doing what we love to do,i just met john for the first time,he is a good guy and works his butt off so the guys in his boat get to catch fish, the last thing any of us need is people magpieing off of others hard work and knowledge, get out there and spend the time like these guys do and you too can be part of the 10%..........john it was great meeting you and i would fish with you anytime or anywhere.todd, you and your brother are my best friends and spending time with you guys is one of my favorite pastimes..................FISHINPOOR

what a joke. bring it on. i tell all and keep catchin' fish. i think paranoia has stricken your ability to figure what's a threat and what's not. fishing is not just about grandstanding. anyway, there's too many of you to take...so i'll back off.

Re: Congratulations Team Magician (Winners)
JB,
Even acknowledging these threats to a fishing spot is lame. We'll never have the pleasure of fishing around him. He most likely fishes places that we have no clue about(Three Rivers hachery hole).
I think our photos did the damage. If anyone wants to know where we fished, just ask and we will tell ya! TUALATIN
When I was younger I was taught to be descrete about any info. Those people that pry so hard have nothing on the other end to give. If you tell them about something, next time you go they will have one of their friends out with them in the exact waters you showed them. I have had it happen more than once.
Besides, without the secret carrot milk we would of been skunked.
Thanks again Zaq & Bobby.
I thought this steehead challenge was just that, A CHALLENGE! (COMPETITION) Some just can't take it, that's why they didn't enter.

Re: Congratulations Team Magician (Winners)
OBF i do not recall very many of your shareing posts. I do however recall ALOT of posts of JB with people that took him up on a FREE open seat that was posted on ifish, alot of these seats were taken by people he did not know prior, so he does his fair share of shareing i'd say. he is sort of like the "Robinhood" ( oh that's good JB is Robinhood  ) of ifish ( gives alot with not expecting anything in return) too bad you blew your chance at an open seat, that wasn't to smart now was it?

Re: Congratulations Team Magician (Winners)
Gotta praise ya winners... You got the trophy this year but next year make the challenge mid-week. I'll make a midweek event, gotta work on the weekends...
James and I will be down and put a little heat on ya. Lund, you know James he said he was invited but didn't have the time to make it.
John and Lund, you two need to come up across the border and get out with James and I. It would be great fun.
Actually wait, please tell me the name of the river you were on. James and I will be there at 5:30 in the morning with the boat in the water ready to rock-n-roll. You say it was the Tualatin??
