I thought it was 1.2359 mz... I will check my math though,,,,

When the wind picks up it does die off a tad,,,

Unless we have been landing airplanes backward the last few days the wind has been out of the west. Course, it has been know to turn around between PDX and Troutdale.......

You're likely onto something here!

How do the vibrating harmonics of a nylon anchor line compare with the output of the vibrations of 300 feet of an "organic" line? Do they hear "orca" or "Nautilus" or "Moe-Larry-Curly?"

I think I'm gonna get an F17 Stealth paint job for my big water canoe. They'll never see me comin'.

Last year while fishing on the big river the wind was blowing hard....very hard...my friend was playing his second fish while i was letting out anchor line....he went home....my boat later netted 3 fish and lost one. Yesterday the wind was blowing from the west all day....saw action out there.

Hmmmm...perhaps the "chop" on the water surface does wierd things with the amount of light that reaches thru the depths.

As for the fishfinder thing Rick....when YOU fish 5 miles below where the boat is anchored...I don't think it's a factor. But hmmmmm......I've heard that Tuff line transmits at 1.2347 mghz when water rubs against it!!

I think this is how the saying goes.

"Winds from the East, Fish bite least."
"Winds from the West, Fish bite best."

Go figure.
