Thanks

A Gun Smith friend of mine has a "parkerizing" bed and was in the process of building building a barrel dunk tank. I done know if he hast it completed yet but PM me for his info.

I need to contact him anyway to see about getting my .40 Taurus side arm done too.

I used Duracoat on an old rifle and it's holding up well. I bought an harbor freight sand blaster and media along with a air brush. I did the whole project in an afternoon myself and it looks like new. Just make sure your wife is gone when you bake it in the oven

I use duracoat for a base coat then just use a flat spray paint over that. It holds up good and is easy to touch-up if the paint gets scratched. Just tape off the bolt and put a ear plug in the end of the barrel. I do not paint the stalks I order those in the color/colors that I want then paint the barrel and action to match the stalk. Also make sure you let the gun dry for at least 24 hours between coats and I will wait 48 hours to a week before I put it on the stalk, I found that if you let it have a long drying time you don't need to bake it.

Andy at Guncoat Northwest did my rifle in Duracoat last year. Its held up great.

I'd go Cerakote or Duracoat if it was me.

Look up Andy's website. To say he is artistic is an understatement.

I've used cerakote on a couple of guns and knives.
This was a stainless steel marlin.

Cerakote is the most durable. However, many others work well too.
