Re: Tulalip bubble 7/5
What kind of scale you using? I need to get one of those . I'll be out there in the a.m. with my bay runner I picked up today. How deep were you trolling? I tried 70-79 last week with no luck.

Re: Tulalip bubble 7/5
I was fishing in about 200 feet of water with the downriggers set at 100 feet. It weighed 20 before we gutted it. It was thick across the back.

Re: Tulalip bubble 7/5
Hey

so .....c'mon..... that is nearly shaq size....
If you say its 20# then, hey since I live in Lynnwood, can I borrow that scale......?
(your supposed to weigh it ....(after) it is unclipped from the downrigger ball)
Just "Razzin" ya Guy......!!!
It is really hard to believe that is 20#, but if you want to call it th

Re: Tulalip bubble 7/5
Listen if you guys are more accurate than a electronic scale by looking at a picture on the internet props to you but you are wrong. Don't you have better things to do than judge the weight of a fish like hmmmm let me see FISHING yourself. Lets see how many 20lb fish you've caught lately huh?

Re: Tulalip bubble 7/5
Jman,
Not to flame the fires or anything... but honestly the picture doesn't make the fish look that big.
I'm just a hair under 6', and weigh 230. The fish in my pic here is.... 15 lbs. Had a guy weigh it on the beach right after I bonked it.
I've had folks tell me they thought this fish was a lot bigger than 15... but who knows. Maybe the scale is off, or maybe the picture is off. Either way, its fresh fish on your dinner plate, which is more important than how much it weighs =).
Good fish man, hope you get more =).

Re: Tulalip bubble 7/5
 The only place where that fish would go 20 lbs is in Fishing and Hunting News.

I was a king salmon derby judge for 8 years and we would guess the weight of fish comming down the dock. We got good at it.
This fish is a nice feeder king but if it went 14 lb I would be surprised.
I put it at between 28" and 32" and no more than 12 lbs. (the bill of your hat is 7"-7-1/2")

Re: Tulalip bubble 7/5
Well first off...
Congrats on the NICE FISH!!!!
Now shame on those of you that pretty much called him a liar. Were you there to see this fish in person? I agree the fish LOOKS to only be about 12 or 14 lbs but camera angles can play all kinds of tricks on the way the fish is shown. I have some pics of fish that are in the 15 to 20 lb range but look like 30lb fish in the pic. and some that went over 30 that look like they are only 20. Just remember that the angle of the fish and the camera make all the diference.
If he says its 20 then so be it Ill believe him rather than call someone I dont even know a liar. Seems to me that people that like to "judge" other peoples fish usualy do some lieing of their own.
just my $.02
Jon

Re: Tulalip bubble 7/5
So be it. The King is a 20 lber( ). It wouldn't matter if it was 5 lb's because that's more salmon than I've caught at the bubble in my last 2 outings. Put in 8 hr's yesterday with no luck . The local at the Tulalip launch says it should pick up in a couple of weeks. I'll be out there every Saturday for the next 2 months so my average fish/trip ratio should improve.

i used to be a boxing judge and we would guess the weights of the fighters before they stepped on the scales...that kid can't be more than 140 dripping wet!
