To you that post pictures of fishing rigs....
To all that take the time and effort to post pictures of different rigs for fishing...from plugs that you use to how to rig pink worms, from spinners to jigs and of course the fish pics and more, for some here it may be no big deal, you may have been doing these rigs since you were born.... to me these are very much appreciated, please keep it up. sure wish jennie had a area here to permenently display "fishing rigs" THANK YOU ALL! ....wish I could get someone to show a close up of a prawn/shimp tail/whole/tied/untied(not one of each, your preference) on a egg loop hook placement...finished product. Presentation is everything? not sure I`m rigging this right?anyone??

Re: To you that post pictures of fishing rigs....
Agreed!
If we could get pics and tutorials on various rigs, from topics like that fantastic how-to piece Scott Ammerman did on curing eggs, to FearNoFish's latest post on putting glow paint on hooks, I'll bet Jennie would find us a place to keep them. <hint, hint>
My problem is that I see something and think, "I've gotta try that," only to lose track of it by the time I get around to rigging up.
Maybe a separate How-To or Tutorial forum?

Re: To you that post pictures of fishing rigs....
I'm always willing to put up photos of rigs.
Hmmmm.
Maybe I should make a web site dedicated to fishing rigs?
Or a book...
I still want to get this swivel made. Looks like my pull at Vision isn't very good. I don't think Vision is gonna make the "Parker Swivel".
Personally, I think this is THE swivel for steelheaders. Just wish it was a real product.

Re: To you that post pictures of fishing rigs....
Parker,
I too make those but use the regular snap swivel opposed to the one in your pic since it is only for lead and I don't mind if it pulls out, releasing the lead while drifting when it hangs up..I have inquired several times at various shops if they would put that style into packs of 50 or 100, Bob's, Fishermans, G.I.Joes, Fishermans Depot..maybe after some viewing here they will finally appear on the market
And thanks all who continue to post and share.

Dampainter...that is the greatist thing about Ifish is the tips/tactics/techniques that are shared...I will always share that type of information for what it is worth...
Parker, very nice...do you by any chance use all solid attacments when drift fishing or do you also use sliders???

Re: To you that post pictures of fishing rigs....
Great Idea, one I have been thinking lately as well. Especially since many pics disappeared as a result of maintenance. I have saved some things over the years but more often than not I do a search, find what I was looking for, but the pics are gone.
Jennie, I understand the storage issue and need to clean up occaisionally, but would it be possible to have a Tech Tips forum that would not be suject to the recylce bin?

Re: To you that post pictures of fishing rigs....
I like the setup pics as well. I hope that maybe jennie can find a way to store them.. They are pretty useful..
Parker,
I have found some swivels close to that make up (close is optimal word) And they work alot better than using a standars snap swivel.

Re: To you that post pictures of fishing rigs....
John B,
Awesome pics.
A little added trick would be a small bead on that slider set-up to protect the knot from the slinky swivel hitting on it every cast or hang up.

Re: To you that post pictures of fishing rigs....
I echo the thoughts of Dampainter. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! I really appreciate the illustrations that many of you show even if I have seen them before. Because if they don't show me something new, then they at least show me that I haven't been fishing in the dark and that I just need to improve my technique.

Re: To you that post pictures of fishing rigs....
another vote for a tips and rigging page/forum with pics. I'm sorry but sometimes i just can't follow simple explanations on riggings. Last year during gearing up for springers someone showed a how to on hoochies/prawns. Photos were included, It made all the difference in the world to me. I love ifish so Jeannie don't take this personel in any regard, Pictorialprosuits.com. (no one will find this site because i can't spell) has a archive of rigging/tips page or pages. From pink worm, bait loops, wrapping oars and baiting sand shrimp. Some of the tips are videos and some are step by step photo. I need step by step photo or video instruction most of the time. I call it fishing A.D.D. I'd surely use it on ifish as i do the photos already. Whew, I'm done.

Re: To you that post pictures of fishing rigs....
Sorry, sometimes I miss threads. Of course it would and is possible.
Go over and look at Pilar's rig on Salty Dogs. He asked that it be made permanent, and I said, "At your service."
It may take some work, and I'd like to figure out a good way to do it.
Let's get it done.
And by the way, feel free to always promote and visit www.piscatorialpursuits.com. Bob does one heck of a job on that kind of thing. Tons of info.

If I had ANY computer skills I would jump at the chance to help you do this, for me it would be great to have a picture forum...pic is worth a thousand words, especially for a dampainter

Re: To you that post pictures of fishing rigs....
Here is what I would like to do.
If you have a rig that you would like to cover and write about...
I need you to get me the pictures, and I'll upload them to a special directory. Problem is, I have a dial up account, and it's S L O W.
Maybe I can talk Pete into doing pictures, or someone else that knows how. I'd like them all to be around the same width, so it looks nice.
Then, I'd like to make a special forum for these rigs. If you have a topic you want to write about, I'll give you permissions to post there. Otherwise, it is read only.
Or, should we let people comment and write, too? I don't know!
Anyway, I'll send you back the URL address of where the pic is, so you can do your post.
Another option is to have a private upload that I give people permission to use, where the pics do not get deleted. Then, you can use the private upload, and go ahead with your posts on the special forum.
What is the name of this forum?
Help?
Jen
