Default Creamy Seaside Casserole (Crab)

Pretty tasty and not as hard to make as it sounds.

1 package of Velvetta Shells & Cheese Dinner
1/4 cup chopped red or green pepper (optional) I use the red
1 pound of picked crab meat
1 cup frozen peas thawed and drained
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon onion salt
1/3 cup bread crumbs or corn flake crumbs, whichever you have

1. Prepare dinner as directed on package
2. Cook and stir onion and pepper in 2 tablespoons of the margarine in a small skillet until tender.
3. Add to the dinner
4. Stir in crab, peas, and mayo
5. Spoon into 1 1/2 quart casserole, cover and bake at 350F for 15 minutes.
6. Melt remaining 2 tablespoons margarine
7. Stir in crumbs and onion salt
8. Uncover casserole; top with crumb mixture
9. Continue baking uncovered 5-10 minutes or until topping is golden brown and thoroughly heated.

This was good! Great use for frozen crab. Did not add the mayo, did not miss it... Panko crumbs worked well as topping. Easy weeknight dish. Will definitely make this again! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
