Jen - Your dream come true (NFR)
Jen,
I thought of you when I read this............."PORTLAND - It's official--Krispy Kreme is heading to Oregon.
The donut giant has confirmed new locations at Portland's Jantzen Beach in Clackamas at 82nd and Otty Road as well as in Beaverton's Tanasbourne area on north Cornell Rd. and Highway 26.
The company is also looking at opening other stores across the state but has not finalized any more locations.
No word yet on when those stores will open. Until then, Oregonians will have to keep driving to Issaquah, Washington to get their Krispy Kreme fix."
Less than an hour away.....................

82nd and Otty? The only place I can think of them putting in would be one of the many abandoned manufactured home retailer lots, which if that's the case then it would certainly be loaded with irony.

Re: Jen - Your dream come true (NFR)
NOOOO!!! my name is jeff and I am a krispy creamaholic. I lived on the east coast while in the service and became addicted.
There is no doubt in my mind that they put somthing like heroin in the glaze to addict you!!! If they do put a store in, please make the drive thru big enough so we can get our boat trailers through......
Just when I thought I was away from the addicting horror of it all......now there will be sleepless nights,, dreams that the clowns will be chasing me,,,,waking up in a cold sweat,,,,voices in my head,,,,,IT WILL BE WORSE THAN FALL CHINOOK ON THE COLUMBIA!!!!!!!
I should put in a bait and tackle shop next to each Krispy shop. it will open at 4:30 in the morning, with fresh live bait and discounts to Ifshers,,,, hmmmm I could make millions,,,,,,

Re: Jen - Your dream come true (NFR)
Hey here's a thought .... the franchise fee is only a little over $$ 800.000.00 Sounds to me like there may be a slight price increase on shuttle fees at the Guide shop. WOW can you belive 800.000 for a donut shop? I did read that the store in Isaquah made 350.000 in the first weekend.Someone mentioned earlier that they thought they had some kind of drug in the glaze, I think they me be on the right track looking at the earnings. Who needs a crack house when you can have a donut shop. I haven't had the pleasure yet, are they realy that good and do they go with beer?

Re: Jen - Your dream come true (NFR)
Maybe trade Crispy Creams for Drift Boat ride down the Trask or Nestucca ! This could be the start of Something. Tight Lines and Glazed Faces. Tom

Re: Jen - Your dream come true (NFR)
Maybe I am the only one but I had them up here in issaquah and I could live with out them. By the time you get thru the 3 hour line you would be getin a late day fishin and if you get them the day before day old krispy creams not that good. the local donut shop in black diamond does them just as good if not better.

Re: Jen - Your dream come true (NFR)
Seriously, are they that good? When I was in the Marine Corps they would show up from time to time, but they were horrible. Maybe the chow hall got a discount on Krispy Kreme boxes. I'm kind of partial to those raspberry filled hostess doughnuts. They put that powdered sugar coating on your fingers that protects you from shrimp guts and egg cure.
