Yes, this is quite embarrasing and some people get the news faster than I can get home and hide my head in the dirt.

Fish-A-Lot, it was a peasure meeting you out there. I was hoping to learn something from you and King fisher, We all know how FM2 fishes. but as soon as we got our boat in the water, you guys were no where to be found.

Any way, Also out there was 2 other Ifish boating people and was nice meeting them as well.

FWF1,When we seen that chinook jump over your lines we got all excited and thought that this wasn't gonna be a skunk day, I don't know if he was teasing you or us. I hope the rest of your drift you found some fish.

Wet Willy, Pleasure you meeting you out there as well.

Fishing Eddie, Thanks for that early breaking news.

3 and 1/2 hours of Skunksville myself this morning. I wonder if all the hot weather this week shook the fish up? Haven't had a decent rain in a while either.

Should have been there yesterday, fishing was great even with the hot weather. Today should have been even better with the cool night and overcast sky..........some one must have had some bad vibes out there.....

It was slow all around. I only fished until 10:30 and we got one on our last pass.

Lots of pressure out today and didn't see or here of any thing else caught. Slowes day I've had in over a month.

The last couple of trips have been slow on the Clack for me too. I can't complain. These last couple of months have been awesome! Hopefully some rain is coming.

FM2, Fishalot...

Wish I had something better to add to this but we ended up with 2 ********* and a smolt. No other fish. We were off the water at 11:30. Now, as far as being busy...it didn't feel too crowded out there to me. David, you must have been running your sled from Carver down river? Good to meet you guys out on the water today. Hope to see you again soon.

The weather was great and the fellowship was even better, it was good to meet Smily, Wet_Willy and others  . I sure had high hopes for today as I'm sure others did also. I guess DJ caught all the fish earlier in the week. He said it was slow all around today and he was off the water by 10:30 with only one fish on the last pass.
Wish for a fish Eddie, we all know if David has a slow day the fish are just not around .

Ya Smily I thought the ladies were going to fly out of the seats when that first one jumped 10 ' over the lines. The one that rolled downstream after that got our attention too, and we worked hard to get that one to bite too.

Despite our best efforts we were off the water by 1 :30 and fishless. David's fish is the first one I've heard of all day. There were definatlty plenty of rods in the water today.

It was nice to meet you at the ramp Andy. WOW, we kind had a mini flotilla today

Who was in the white wooden boat at Carver with a motor ? They too had an Ifish sticker !

I'll echo Ian Premo...... we need some rain

EDIT :
THIS JUST FOUND IN THE BOAT !!! AN EMPTY BANANA PEEL !!!!!!!!!

DOH !!! I thought I told my wife to specifically not buy those darn things anymore. Turns out it was our fishing guest !!!

Sorry fellas, that might explain the skunks today
Chris

Had a good time on the water today, heck not even a rain drop fell

Nice to meet you Wet Willy, sounds like your day was like ours....opps I forgot to say that King Wisher without a guide  grabbed my rod waaaaayyy to early twice, especially the time we landed that Nike football  Yes folks, we managed the only Nike football on the Clack today, it was the only one checked by the ODFW and he heard the only one landed throughout the entire system. . Not kidding, we found a football and I threw it tonight with the neighbors and it's a beauty, I think I'll mount this one.

I know now not to take the reigning baton holder FISHALOT drift fishing as this person SHUTS down the entire river, and top that off with Dishless Teddie's <sp> continual phone calls while having his/her pedicure, it was "curtains" for anyone on the river. Sheesh, I'm going to Barnacle Bill's to tell them to spread da word....hehehehe!

Yes Fishlessalot,KingFisher, FM2,Smiley and a friend have been pounding the water for a little more then 6 hours. The Score the big goose egg, the zippo, the na da, the big blank. Yes this motley crew of fishermen have put the fish in lock jaw mode for at least a couple of days ( I'm sure we'll see some pics. of who's fish on who's head? ) I'll look forward to the next phone message, that's right I had to call them, they really didn't want to call me.

I'm guilty!!! I must have put the skunk on the whole Ifish community from River Mill on down. A few fish caught at River Mill despite my being there - saw about a half dozen landed between 5:30 to 11:30 am; 50-50 native to hatchery. Saw several other fish on and lost. I was on the McIver side. Drifters on other side were getting some too. But, overall slow with the number of rods out there.

A ton of fish up there - and a lot of bright, good looking fish too.

I think you needed to have the secret egg cure to be successful today.

I am at 61 hours and counting - still no Springers to my name (No, I wasn't plunking Dave .....)

Maybe a little of both. We could be inbetween pushes of fish, but I just think they've changed hiding spots. After all ,it is getting awfully clear in that river. Coupled with the algae bloom and smolts, it makes for interesting trips.

I saw some slooooooow days last week, when a few months before it was slammin.

Check out what Ian said, he knows, he's at it almost daily like the other guys out there.

Heck I think that even DJ is back down to single digit days after last week. You know something is going on then.......

Fished Saturday, floated Barton to Carver. Grand total of fish= 0. But the saving grace was the people in jet boats. Usually I get frustrated with the jet boats out on the Clack, but Saturday EVERY boat that went by was very courteous! Thanks if you were out on that stretch on saturday.

FM2,
That is too funny about that football. I saw it floating in the river along the bank but didn't pick it up. Looked like a nice leather ball though. The day wasn't a total bust. It was a nice day on the river despite the low catch rate. I haven't done that drift in a long time. One note, don't show up at the gate to Barton before 6am, unless you want some extra time to rig your gear at the gate...Oh well.

Sheeeezzzzz! With all these guys fishing on the clackamas river I believe it is time to rename it. Here is the new name:

"Crackermissedthefish River"

Man with all you guys out there it is surely to kill the bite. Now ol' Mofish thinks he's all that with the make up test he took with Johnson. Can't catch a fish in his own boat either. hummmmmmmm..... Then Fishin Eddie gets a trout sized Chinnook and talks about it  Thankfully it was supposedly a native so there is no proof that it even happen. (Can someone say 6lb *********?) Fishfornot, Kingdishwasher and poor FMsquared what gives boys?

Ok, here it is. A mini-flotilla at Indian Springs trout farm for these prayer warriors of fishing. I promise, you guys will catch fish. Really!!!!

All kidding aside, congrats to Fishin Eddie on his first ever Clackamas chinnook boated by himself. As for you other Crackermissedthefish-erman....

FWF1 EVEN A BLIND SQUIRREL FINDS THE ACORN ONCE IN A WHILE We cannot all be like you brother. You know, drive an hour, fish an hour, drive an hour to get our limits. I have seen you dialed in and believe me it aint pretty (flotilla 4.0) Of course it was'nt pretty on our boat either with Spooled sleepin in the front of the boat maning the anchor line. Just one of those days.

Mofish, Darkies eat and smoke just fine thanks. Plus the berries are just right for the cure. Now if I could only get David's cure I could catch more fish. Naw, his eggs are the color of an old brown beer bottle anyways. Hummmm......beer cured eggs, that just may be his secret. Urea cured more than likely

Sometimes people just have the stroke Mofish. That was your day dude. Be proud, it probably won't happen again. BTW, 18" leader that day?

Actually C & E, the boat I was in ( we did not enter f4), we actually got a fish that day. How about you fab four, whadda you get besides sleep ?
No , the fish wasn't on my line that day,but my kwikie, my secret sardine mess, and general set up. And that day on the coast , I fished for 45 minutes man, get it straight .

One last thing, if I actually owned a digi camera, I would bore you with all the pictuers of the fish I catch !! So there

( Sorry for a second, I was back in the clubhouse too . Please excuse the backlash  )

If you and Shaggy ever want to put a hurt to some fish, let me know. I do really well for summers and the silvers aren't far behind. Bank or drift, it won't matter. If we time it right, you could get enough eggs to experiment with.

You could pour beer in some, pee in another jar, heck you could try them all

I think we could show 'em how it's done ! If not, we would die of laughter trying.

Take it easy Bernie,

Chris

Just a couple of more weeks and I will be mooring the "Cindy Lou" in Ilwaco for the Ocean season and bouy 10. I can't wait.

Chirs, Shaggy and I will have to take you up on your offer sometime. He has been working on his casting and actually doing ok at it too. He loves that Eagle Creek fishing and hooks up just fine himself. Got to get him one on the Clackamas sometime.

Mofish, 18" leader in the ocean? Does that work too?
