Very glad to hear Jennie is ordering this book, I am re-reading it myself, it is SO encouraging.I have found that God will ALWAY"S speak to us...it is OUR job to figure out/recognize HOW He is communicating to us, and WHEN HE is speaking to us that can be interesting, to say the leastI find it to be interesting to hear from other's on this subject...how's about some of you ifisher's,please share how HE has done this in your live's, when HIS encouragement was sorely needed? By doing the afore-mentioned, who know's who/how you will be encouraging, at the moment your comment's are posted? This could be a VERY good thing.I know HE uses HIS Word, but HE is not restricted to HIS Word, though we all know that anything He communicate's will line up with His word, true?Again, I am so very glad this book is blessing you,Jennie, as it is me.Take care, Nice LadyI have been surprized to see no other type's of responce's to this subject, after all...what can be more important than the One Who love's us, communicating with us?Wowzer....112 view's, no replie"s other than Jennie and myself...and I KNOW someone MUST have looked the book up on Amazon[at least I hope so....maybe no replie's because it is not written in King Jame's?]The silence is deafening...BTW, this is NOT theology, it is "practicality"

You have touched my life... And many others, by just posting this.
I know how it feels to have no one respond to a thread, but look at the readers who have read! No fear... Not every thread produces words, but I bet there is a lot of thought on this subject.

I read a lot of post and would like to respond, the problem I come up against is that I do not know how to express in words what I feel so I just don't respond.

Please forgive me for my lack of participation lately here on anglers chapel.

Feisty...I didn't reply just because I haven't read the book, and didn't realize you were looking for responses. I sure do agree with your statements above. No question that God communicates with us....especially when we are seeking answers and wisdom. His Word is just one way. It is true that anything He communicates will be in line with His Word...but in my own life some of the most powerful and life-changing times when God has touched my life came in ways other than reading his Word (which I love as well)

Encouragement especially I think comes in a variety of ways. Obviously the Bible is full of it...and most of the stories of God's dealings with people are written to encourage us. On a few occasions I feel God has touched me directly and profoundly by His Spirit. Another really important way that God uses to encourage us is other people who are there at just the right time. Personally, some of the greatest encouragment I have experienced was because other people came through or extended kindness to me. (The other side of the coin is...some of the biggest discouragement has been at the hand of other people too)

I take it however I can get it. Ultimately God is there and watching over us at all times. Most of us have trouble recognizing the hand of God through difficult circumstances. We can look back and see how His hand was in our lives in times past...and most of us have some kind of positive faith picture for the future. It's just here and now...when we are going through tough times that we struggle to make sense of it all

Sometimes, I might not know how to respond, but the one thing I do know how to do is pray.

Thank you both, that is what I have been hoping for in responses, a sharing on how God has worked in your life to encourage you, as this will also work towards encouraging other's.The book I came across is helping me, but book's are a matter of taste, I was merely recomending it as a good readOne further note,as I delve further into the book, it seems as though the two male author's are of a sexual persuasion I vehemently dis-agree with, as a result, I can no longer recomend this as a read.
