Default 8 yr olds first Salmon/Sturgeon Trip

Tomorrow I'm taking my 8yr old daughter out for her 1st big fish fishing trip. I hesitated at first because of the derby but I put her off last weekend for the same reason. I would really like to get her her 1st Gator or Salmon.
Any suggestions for a good combo area where we might have a chance for either.
Thanks alot.

Hey, Phool.... the lower Willamette is a good place ...fish the top of the channel for salmon and anywhere around there for sturgeon. Good-Luck !!! swampy

I'd stay in the Willamette. Lots of shakers and warmer water = better chance for a salmon. Good luck. Hope she enjoys the trip. Tip: bring doughnuts.
