Default The "C" word

I have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

I don't know how else to tell you guys but just to say it, so please say prayers for me to heal so that I can keep on keepin' on.

I'm really strong, so I'm sure things will be fine.

Jen

My wife just finish the last radiation treatment last friday. Just a few days over 9 months from diagnosis to final treatment. Double mastectomy, 11 of 15 lymph nodes removed where also infected. Now she starts anti-estrogen pills for 5 years. She is doing well and has been very active durring the treatment. The chemo is the worst part. Radiation just takes a lot of trips 5 days a week with little side effects other than being tired and some burns. Plan on staying near your treatment, Some days my wife had 3 appointments. Get a port and good luck. We are praying for you

Jennie-

So sorry to have read this news-but I believe you are so strong that you will do well. Glad Bill is home to have things better settled on the home front. Hope he can heal quickly so you both can move thru this next phase of life with the support of each other.
You know, you have the largest support group here, so please be clear about your needs as you move forward with your treatment so we all can put our efforts where you need them most.

Hugs & prayers

Jennie,
You are extremely strong to have gone through all the health issues you and you family have faced so far. You have the mental tools to get through this also. Look at it as just another bump in the road of life. Breast cancer is beatable. I know you'll beat it too.
You're in our thoughts and and prayers. Kick the C's butt!!!

When you are faced with the frightening diagnosis of breast cancer, it's natural to experience feelings like hopelessness, fear, and despair. In those moments, we are most in need of simple words that can bring comfort, faith, and the hope of healing. You have a lots of folks that love and admire you so there is a lot of hope pulling for you…Hope is like a road in the country; there wasn’t ever a road, but when many people walk on it, the road comes into existence. You have a 6 lane highway of Ifishers walking the road of hope for you.
Get well…The Sheltons

Jen, cancer is a scary thing, I know. I've talked about my liver cancer on here before, but not for a long time. They said 2-1/2 years ago that I had "months, to two years to live." But believe with all your heart in God's ability and willingness to heal in faith. Think of the woman who said, "if I touch Your cloak I may be healed", or the Roman centurion whose servant was sick and in faith said, "I'm not worthy to receive You in my house, but say the word and he shall be healed." That sister, is the faith and trust in Him that He calls us to have! Two ministers who counseled me early in "the fight" reminded me of that. What was so uplifting, was to learn of the way to pray on it. The Word calls for laying of hands and anointing - DO IT and believe in its power! Pray as you've never prayed before. I don't believe the Lord perceives it as whiny to plead with Him, to beg for His grace and mercy, and cry out for your need of His power NOW! Then... GIVE THANKS! A minister said something that made so much sense, "Pray hard, first for healing, then from there on give thanks for His promise fulfilled, assuming His work has been done in you. It is totally against His nature to not live up to His promise of rewarding faith given as that of a child."

Believe on that. The glory is all His. Mine is a testimony of His victory. He took 4 tumors in my liver away. Where medical community said mine was a death sentence 2-1/2 years ago, the Lord was not nearly done having HIS say yet. The Word will set you free, believe on that. I was told in May, after numerous clear CT scans in the last 10 months, that I am now considered CANCER FREE. The doctors just shrugged their shoulders and had no answer. Educated ignorance, I call it. For all the doctor's great medical books, they were looking in the wrong Book!

Claim the promise of the Lord as made personally to you - because it is. And give thanks! What, with all the people you touch Jen, how awesome an opportunity for God to show His power and glory to so many. I give thanks to Him that I'm even here to see it!!!

Love and Blessings! Dave "cotalot"

Shoot, Jennie..you can beat this. I've heard personally of miracles when it comes to this stupid disease. I've heard that your mind and spiritual soul can play a big part. You've got both! Sooooooo..you're one step ahead of the game.

I hate this disease but nowadays, it seems that people have a lot better chance of beating it then in days past. So much better research and treatment available.

You'll be around to give us "IFish Trouble Makers" a good talkin to for a very long time!!! lol Hopefully, we'll all be on our best behavior during your healing time. A little "mod" reminder will probably be necessary now and then, ya think?

Okay, girl...you go show em what you're made of!!

I am sending positive thoughts your way Jennie for a speedy recovery.
I know 4 survivors of breast cancer including my mom, my husband's mom, his grandma, & a friend. Some had masectomy & chemo, & some had lumpectomy & radiation. You can email me if you want to ask me about what they went thru with their various treatments.

Thanks, you guys. You are awesome!

I'm having a tough night and can't sleep.

Lots of worries have been 'magically' lifted from me, in reading this.

Getting sleepy....

“Dear Lord, thank you.

Thank you for creating me,
Thank you for your gift of consciousness,
Thank you for sustaining me.
I am your grateful child Jennie.

Behind all healing methods and all physicians,
You are the only Healer, Lord.
You are all-knowing, all-powerful, everywhere present.
Where you are there is perfect health.

You are in my breasts, you are in my blood,
You are in my every cell and every organ.
Shine your healing light throughout my body, Lord.
Make it whole again.

In my heart I worship you, Lord.
In my mind I worship you, Lord.
In my body I worship you, Lord.
In my soul I worship you, Lord.
Cleanse my heart, mind, body and soul,
Make me whole again.

Thank you, Lord, for your love and your healing presence,
Help me always know your perfect Will.
Amen”.
Jennie

I want to learn to pray like cotalot, but the best I can do now is to copy and paste this one I found.

Tomorrow, tons of tests all day. Be with me, Lord.
