I got a springer!!
Not a big one, but he sure put up a fight. I was fishing alone, had a chinese fire drill when my rod buried. This made up for a terrible week at work. This my second springer ever. Hopefully many more to come.

Any Springer when you are fishing alone out of a boat is a trophy - and how much springer can a guy eat at once anyway? Way to go!

That thing looks like Cromagnook, the missing salmon link. With shoulders like that, you bet he fought. WTG!!

Re: I got a springer!!
Just baked part of him on a cedar plank. Candy.
Caught him with a cut plug green label, at about 14' depth. My rod was doing that little tap dance for about 5 seconds, just as I was about to get the rod out of the holder, it doubled over and stuck.

Way to go Froggy. I'd be very happy to put a bright fish like that in the boat this weekend.

Re: I got a springer!!
So here I am stuck in Rhode Island on a job. Looking at the ever growing number of spring pictures from my much missed home state. Oh the humanity. Can I come home, please?
I guess I can't cast that far.
