I just got off the phone with Stg, David Pound from the Oregon State Police.

This is what I found out about Shears Bridge!!!!!!

Ever one can fish down there this year, you need all the same stuff for any river, license and tags ect.

The catch is to fish this area, you need a PERMIT TO PARK, AND YES YOU KNOW WHO GETS THE MONEY!!! I COULD NOT FIND OUT WHAT A DAY PARKING FEE WELL BE, AT THIS TIME.

AND BECAUSE THE TRIBE OWNS A VERY SMALL PEACE OF LAND YOU WELL ALSO HAVE TO PAY TO SPEND THE NIGHT.

JUST WANTED TO LET YOU WHO COME OVER THIS WAY WHAT YOU WILL BE IN STORE FOR.---------------------------***STICK IT RALPH--FISH ON.

It was like that last year.If I had dollar for every springer I have caught at shears I would have one of these on my face :grin: I started fishing shears with my dad in the late 60s

Try shelling out 75 clams this year for a river pass to boot! :shocked:
It is becoming a rich mans sport there anymore.
The sad thing is, and correct me if I am wrong, but the money that the BLM collects from these fees, is not used for the fishery at all.
I was told it was used to support the outhouses and trails along the river.?
(they should use their money more wisely, cause no-one visits the outhouses except the rattlers and scorpions.)

B-run you are right for the most part, the money is used to maitntain the accsess road camp grounds and launches. remember there are a lot of users who do not fish and could not care one bit about the fish in the river. they say we pay all this money and not one cent gose to rafting improvments This is the only way to keep the greater public happy. remember its everyones river.
