Belated mothers day gift
Since my folks spend half the year in Arizona, this year for mothers day my mom wanted me to take her salmon fishing when they returned home. Well, yesterday was her belated mothers day trip. We fished the Sandy river from Dabney to Lewis and Clark. She had never been in my driftboat before and really enjoyed the peacefulness of floating along quietly and seeing all of the wildlife along the way. Finally about 3 oclock her serenity was awakend by the sounds of FISH-ON, her rod throbbing in the rod holder and she couldn't get it out to set the hook so I grabbed it and set the hook for her. We got out of the drift, set the anchor, got the other rod in and she fought this fish like a pro.........pull up, reel down.........fish runs, lost all momentum gained.......pull up reel down. About 15 minutes later, fish in the boat and it's a beaut. I had to barrow a scale because I didn't bring mine (thanks MadMikey) and it weighed in at a wopping 21 pounds. We fished out the rest of the day with no more take downs but that was fine. This was truley a memorable day for my mom and I, she said we need to make it an annual event for the two of us. She was so excited my dad called me at 10:30 last night to tell me she was bouncing off the walls at home.
isn't life grand...............
