Can't fish the M.C. With a Wa license. As long as you are in the mainstream Columbia either license works. Once you get up inside a river mouth you need the license for that state.

You also can not fish any backwater, slough or side channel (as behind an island) without the appropriate states license. The reciprocity only applies to the main river channel.

We fished the MC lots on the Sunday closure's last year. You can get a license at the St Helens Marina. Keep in mind they open pretty late, like 8am.

Default Oregon/Washington fishing lisence reciprocity

I know that when you launch at Illwaco to fish Bouy 10 you can use either a Oregon or Washington lisence. My question is how far up the river does this reciprocity go? Tounge Point, I 5 bridge, 205 bridge or Bonneville or further?

Thanks,

As long as your from a boat you can fish the columbia from ether side but if your on the bank you must have the right tag. does not matter how far up you are

You can't fish Wind River with an Oregon tag, even though your in the Columbia. Watch for signs if you turn into any river mouth.

the wind and drano/lit white are washington rivers not part of the main river thus a washington lic. once the river leaves the oregon line above mcnary its wash only from the way it was explained to me by wash fish and game

I think that above McNary dam it is the center of the shipping channel.
