It's pretty simple.
Get yer self a parking pass for SI first. Then go to the boat ramp on the far side of the island, past the nude beach.
Check the ramp and immediate area for logs and drift wood. This was an issue last time I was there.
Go up river about 2 miles and you will see Sand Island. Fish the inside passage, left looking upstream. You should see lots of boats. Put out the bumpers and look for a blue Willie Predator with a Polar bear and the name ******. Pull up good and close and have a blast. .... O.k. maybe not too close. Look for structure or bumps and try to anchor so you are above the area and back bounce to that spot. I think I fished 35' last year and did great.
We fished a 42" dropper with Dick Knights and scented them with Anise. Couldn't keep them off long enough to fish 3 rods. I was the net boy and couldn't hardly keep my wife and son out between fish. They both had to stop cause their arms were sore. I'm sure OC is better fishing and everyone should make that their first choice but you might be able to find fish here too.

Hope this helps and you are able to get your friends into the fish.
Let me know how you do...
