Default Great day at Rhoades Pond ended with a bonus!

We had a great time at Rhoades Pond today and enjoyed a nice lunch. Ron Byrd had the total number of fish clipped at just under 30,000.
After we finished there we decided to try a little fishing. I had a nice springer on but lost it to the rocks and current, Jon (MasterCaster) had 3 on and landed this nice buck!
A very nice ending to a great day.

Thanx for posting the pic.

It was a great day all the way around!

I had a great time at the clipping and the lunch was great! Then after handling all the little guys we will see in the future I got lucky enough to "handle" one someone else clipped a few years ago!

I have never done the low clear water thing for springers but what a blast! Sandshrimp all the way! They just wont leave it alone! Put it in their face and they just cant stand it very long before WHAMMO!! FISH ON!! Although it would be nice if there were a few less rocks for em to wrap around! I lost 2 bigger fish before finally landing the 18# chromer! What power these fish have even in only a foot of water!

Jon

Dont feel guilty swampy, this was the first time I have been a part of the clipping thing and it was a blast. We all had a great time! It would be great to have you at the next one though if you can make it! I know if I can make it I will be there!

We may go out and try for another low water springer in the morning not sure yet but what a rush it is to have those chrome rockets shooting through only a few feet of water on the end of your line! I think the best part is watching the sandshrimp <with hook> get gobbled up just before the hookset!

See you guys on the water

Jon
