Default Free AntiVirus Software anyone?

Not sure what happened to the first time this was posted (post monster?), so I'll put this back up.

Saw this advertised and it looks like a good deal. AVG AntiVirus Free Edition with free updates and everything. They're kind of like Zone Alarm that they have a more full-featured product that they sell, but the free version does everything that the average Joe would need.

Give it a try! Reviews so far have been good from people I've talked to.

Very nice of you to post this, Bent.

We need folks like you to keep an eye out for the interest of the general community.

Some viruses are known to delete files. Maybe that is what happened to your first post!

GBT,
Your original post probably got deleted. I recall Jen asking us earlier in the week not to post virus alerts, virus fixes, etc. due to the fact that there was allot of bogus information going around......................just a thought.

That's entirely possible, Artwo. If that's the reason for deletion then someone please let me know. This is an excellent AntiVirus software package that's free <roll Tom Peterson sound bite> that could help a lot of people.

And it's real, too. Not something I got in email.

I would appreciate it if we could steer away from the virus topics.
Every once and a while, it might come up, and I'll let it go... but it's difficult enough screening fishing messages. I don't want to research virus software to see if it's good for all.
They could cause trouble for some people.
I don't want to start recommending products for virus software on a fishing board. We specialize in fishing.
There are many internet sites who specialize in virus protection.
If I had to give a link or two for virus protection, I'd stick with Norton and MacAfee.
Trusted in the biz...
Sorry, GB, I know you are only trying to help, but it's tough going through what we have!
