Umpqua River Report

Fished the Umpqua on Friday and Saturday near Elkton, between Yellow Creek and Scott Creek. We were trying for springers, but it was pretty poor. Had heard of some caught earlier in the week, but nobody else we talked too got any. Plenty of fish in the river, but the river was too clear. 10 + feet of vis. Managed to hook and lose one on sandshrimp, but that was it. On the plus side the shad are in. I caught plenty of them casting dick nites or those little gold hooks w/ spinner blades (I forget their name). Kept us entertained anyways. Plenty of smallmouth too, but nothing of any size.

Is scott creek upstream or downstream from yellow creek?

Scott Creek is downstream from Elkton, a few miles below Sawyers rapids.
