Default Wind River

Well I thought I was prepared for my first ever boating trip to the wind. NOT!!!! Learned a tough lesson, always, always, always take sandshrimp!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes I am yelling!!!!!!!!

Watched a few boats trolling like we were. One fish that I saw caught on a troll. Most all the fish were taken by those that were anchored. Not at all what I had read about in any of my research. Funny thing was is I almost bought sandshrimp last night but thought NAWWWWW, that's not how it was done.

Well I did have a few eggs but they just were quickly devoured by smolts. :depressed: All the while I watched doughballs and pros hook fish after fish after fish. Totally frustrating and embarassing. But! lesson learned for the next time I go. Saw one boat with 5 and another boat with 8. At least they had fun.

Now for all those that did not want to talk about the Wind this week when I asked There, your little secret is out! Te he he..... So if you go, take your anchor, eggs, sand shrimp and find 13' of water. That's what I will do next time.

Good Job Bernie!
You didn't take Sand Shrimp?
What wrong with you man?
Oh for crying out loud!
 ....just kidding.....

They were anchored? That's news to me.
I guess they started getting tired of playing bumper boats.
Oh well, what ever works.

I was up sturgeon fishing and drove by the wind and saw the weirdest thing, boats anchored in the little bay. I have been fishing the wind since i was little and have never seen it. Oh well we did good for the day on sturgeon so not to worried about the wind yet.

It was weird to see everyone except me and about 8 other boats anchored. Not at all what I expected. Learn something new every time I go. Just this was a tough lesson, bitter pill type of day.

The good part? I took a 2.5 hour nap yesterday. The bad part? I still was ticked that I did not take sand shrimp.

Next time I will be ready!

Oh, BTW, they are catching good numbers on up river. Spoke to 3 folks that had been up there on Sunday. Bagged their limits and were out of there. So you folks that are remaining quiet be ready. The crowds might show up now. Muhaaaaaaahahhhhhhaaaa!!

C&E.....

Trying to figure out why you would draw attention to this fishery? Not many fish and not much room. Way more bad days than good and the "wind" will kick your **S.

It sounds like you found the lost Dutchmans gold.........But you did not catch a fish.....

What are you trying to tell us?

Sounds like Drano is the hot place to be....And out of the "wind".

Hey Bernie,
Ya know, this is another one of those zipper lip areas.
No body has ever fished this area before.
Let's just keep this one to ourselves.

Slutgoddes, I figured that since no one wanted to talk about it I would give a first hand report in retalliation for the silence. Of course I know that silence usually means the hammer is falling and fishing is good.

I was not asking for any secret recipies, just methods and if the fishies were there. Well, they were there I just was not properly armed with the right stuff. Again, the store was closed when I checked for all you snickering weasels .

Now for todays report from Pops. There have been very few fish caught today as of 1 pm. So your secret spot is safe for now.
