Default Talk about beginner's Luck !!

Here's an e-mail i just received from Red Beard.

Hey!

I helped a guy catch his first steel head this afternoon.

I was at Oregon City on the Clack and this chuckle head hooks up just as I
am walking by. I saw the strike and watched his pole take a nose dive and he
just froze and hung on. I said "you may want to set the hook and start
reeling in? He snapped out of it and went into a panic reeling like mad. I
just thought to myself Ohkaaaaay. But some how he managed to bring it up to
the shore and then just pulled it up the bank. It all happend in about 45
seconds. The bank there is steep with loose rounded river rock and I have
seen more than one fish landed that way flip off and slide right back in the
water. Knowing this I stepped between the fish and the water just as the
hook came out. I dropped to my knees and tried to trap it but the ****** was
still full of fight so it flipped and kicked like crazy. Bozoo decided to
join the fun after seeing me strugle so we were both on our knees trying to
subdue his fish. I managed to pull my net out of the back of my vest and
that settled that.

I spoke with him a bit after that and it turns out he had just purchased his
Tag, pole and reel at Fishermans Marine an hour before. The guy at the
counter tied up a couple corky and slinky rigs for him and told him where to
go find some water. This was his very first time out. He didn't even know
how to fill out his tag. I gave him my pen and helped him log his catch. He
shook my hand and thanked me for the help and my parting words were "You are
the luckiest son of a b*&@# I know." Judging by the grin on his face he
agreed.

That gives new meaning the phrase "blind squirrel finds a nut!"

You can bet Fisherman's just earned a customer for life.
