What would I do without you folks? I need help again. This time it is to get the right kind of downrigger. Probably two.
20 ft bayliner.
IOB
Will be fishing for salmon 6 or 7 times /year.
Will be fishing for Koekene (sp?) next month.
Whaddaya think?
I know how hard it is to get opinions from this board. Everybody is so tight mouthed
Thank you for all of your help on the surge brake thing. I got them fixed and so far so good.
I just want to get away from work and go fishin'.

This board helps to keep my hopes alive..Thanks

When I fish kokanee, I don't use a downrigger or a ton of weight. I use a diving sinker. I've never had any problems with one, and it's less hassle than a downrigger.

I've been using Big Jon's electric downriggers for the last 6 years and have had no problems. Depending on where you mount your downriggers I would be sure to get swivel base mounts for them. Helps with positioning them and getting them out of the way.

I have a pair of Cannon mag 10a mounted to a board across the back of my boat and have been fishing with downriggers for years. I also bought a pair of quick disconnects so i can run two poles per downrigger. Unfortunately due to the BS law here you can only use one pole per person,oh well. Downriggers are a great way to get the bait down there...just haven't had much luck here with them yet.
