Default new gear

Yesterday I had all my gear stolen out of my truck. The thieves decided to use a crow bar or something and break my window and pop my canopy. Anyhow I was staying at my fiancés house in Milwaukee. Just in case anyone knows anything please e-mail me.

Anyhow I get to buy new gear obviously the new gear won’t be the same gear that brought me my lucky 32lb salmon years ago or my first steelhead. Any suggestions for Rods and Reel combo’s.

dude, that really bites (no pun intended). i'm sorry to hear your stuff got stolen. i hope you're able to come up with gear to do your trip this weekend (and sorry, but i won't be making that trip with you). i had my rig broken into up at marmot dam last summer. thankfully, they didn't take anything, but it has made me skittish about fishing certain places and leaving my car where i'm not at least somewhat certain it is safe.

aside from the standard ambassadeur reels, i buy cheap rods so you don't want my recommendations. good luck.

That is horrible, I have had the same thing happen to me.
I don't have recommendations, but I do buy a lot of my gear from this company. You absolutely can't beat there prices. It is the actual factory outlet for Berkley. It is directly across the street from the factory and they sell top quality stuff - not rejects or defects from the factory.

They ship fast, hope this helps.

Sorry to hear bout your gear getting ripped off. The lowlifes that did it will get theirs sooner or later.
What type of gear did you have? Maybe that would help with the recomendations from others. I know of a place where you can buy North River rods for cheap he also has Custom Made rods but I prefer North River by far. These are actually repaired rods that have had an insert or an eye or tip replaced most of the rods look like brand new some even have the plastic on the butts. If your interested let me know and ill be happy to help. This guy is in Salem and we have bought many rods from him without any problems.

As you may well know, your home or renter's insurance covers burglary loss from your vehicle, too. So check into it.

You might want to take a list of your items to Ollie Damons on Grand. I've seen seedy looking guys in there trying to sell fishing stuff. I don't know if they would call the cops if they see your stuff, but it might be worth a try.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I had all of my salmon gear and my trolling motor ripped off out of my driveway 4 weeks ago.

As for insurance your homeowners should cover it, Hope you have better luck with your insurance company than I'm having.

slacker, that was agreat site. I do like the berkley line of rods. superb gear for the price. I just might pick one up, you can't go wrong with those prices.

Jon, i'll keep your idea in mind. Thanks for lending a helping hand.

I basically lost my steelhead and salmon combo's w/ my gear. I'm going to use my home owners just like omnivor mentioned but it's sure a pain. Nothing like the pain you feel hicking two huge salmon.

Thanks for the notes and I sure hope the theives get theirs.
