I don't know how reliable this info is because he wanted me to do something with him this Saturday, and when I told him I was going fishing, That's when he told me this.

I fished on the 1st and caught 1 keeper @ 26" and
2 @ 21". I fished the North side of the Island towards the West end in 30 to 40 feet of water. I pulled cut plug Herring on the bottom. A friend of mine fished the North bank across from the Island in 10 feet of water and did well with a 12 and 8 pounder pulling plugs. He has went a couple more times and said the fish are pretty spookey. The first hour of daylight then it's over.

Well the fishing wasn't what I would call hot, but it wasn't bad either. My dad and I each caught 2, with his being about a 14"er caught on an 8" plug and a 5lber somehow foul hooked in the tail area. The two I caught were one keeper at 26" and 7lbs 12oz. (fat) and one around 5lbs. They were all caught on silver and black rappalas, at various depths, from 20' of water to 140' for the keeper. Hopefully my dad will post some pics when he gets home tomorrow. We also heard of a few others being caught.
Here's the pic. We were on our way back to boat ramp, bemoning the fact that we were not bringing home dinner at about 1:30 pm when fate smiled on us. I guess even first-timers can catch fish with good help and a little luck. Once again, son schools dad....but wait for springers!!!
